FOOD CRAVINGS!

Do you ever wonder why you are craving a specific food at an awkward time of the day?

Well, food cravings mostly has to do with an imbalance in a certain part of your food diet.

There are other factors like low serotonin levels, menstrual cycles and general addiction, but for now, I will just be touching on the Diet and blood sugar level.

Several studies have shown that lack of nutrition and a healthy diet can lead to a food craving of Carbs! (Carbohydrates - rice, yam, breads, pasta)

When your nutrition level is low, it can lead to an  imbalance in hormones which can cause you to crave food your brain knows to be high in fat, this is usually the wrong food like fat chips, burgers, and fried rice.

These types of Carbs are really bad for the body; they are simple sugars, high in calories and are burnt off very quickly, so, the feeling of hunger is quick to return after consumption.

they can lead to a dramatic increase n weight gain, high blood pressure, damages to the arteries and even depression.
they are known to be major affecting factors of Type I and Type II diabetes.

How can I avoid these food cravings?

These food cravings can be avoidable by keeping a healthy and balanced diet, including consuming at least 2 litres of water a day.

a healthy, balanced diet usually consists of
Plenty of Fruit and Vegetables
Starchy foods i.e. bread, rice, with wholegrain options being a better choice.
Milk and dairy foods i.e. cheese
Protein i.e. fish, beans, eggs and chicken
And a small amount of Foods high in fat and sugar i.e Crisps, cakes and sweets

Eating your meals at the right time would not only minimise these cravings but will improve your well-being physically, and emotionally.
