Starvation and weight-loss


Apart from the well known issue of starvation and the effects and damages it can cause to the human's physical and mental state, Starving yourself actually helps to STORE rather than to burn off weight!

Your metabolism switches into starvation mode; this is when your brain will signal to the body that food will not come as often as it did, hence the body storing everything that it does consume, rather than to digest and use for energy!

Some people often make the mistake of missing out on the most important meal! Breakfast!

They believe by skipping this, they are losing weight when in actual fact, you are required to eat breakfast at least an hour of you waking up!

This would also help to kick-start your morning! You should feel more alert and active after a healthy breakfast!


So, to sum up! Starvation does NOT help weight-loss!!; A balanced diet does.
Avoiding Breakfast is a really poor way to start the day!!

Healthier meals you should try to consider in your breakfast;

  • Brown bread
  • Weetabix or any other (wheaty) cereal
  • Oats
  • Banana - a great boost of energy!
  • Fruit juice
  • Semi- skimmed milk (green) if you cannot do Skimmed (red).
Always have a fruit on you, from apples, oranges, to mangos, or even dried fruits!



Another great suggestion is smoothies! They taste great and a good way to get your Five a day!

You could also try adding a breakfast pack or a cereal bar into your bag if you would not have time to make it in the morning!




No excuses to avoiding breakfast guys!
